Weekly report 3.27.2025
Alaska Safe Riders here with your weekly snow and trail report thanks to support from the M.E.A Charitable Foundation and this station.
Sunshine, warmer days and soft snow are closing out the month of March. Riders are still reporting great conditions north on the Glenn around Eureka and Lake Louise. Trails north along the Parks toward Petersville and Trapper Creek are reported spring-soft and bumpy. South toward Turnagain you’ll also find good riding but be alert for rapidly changing conditions.
Make sure to secure your truck, trailer and all equipment as there are sadly reports of sticky finger riders out there snagging gear from others at popular trailheads. Totally not cool and all efforts are on to catch these thieves who are attempting to ruin the joy of riding. If you see something, say something.
The Alaska Safe Riders team is taking their training on the trail this week visiting communities along the Kuskokwim River out of Bethel. This is a great opportunity for the new Mat-Su instructors to put their skills to practice. If your school has not had a presentation, make sure to sign up today!
Avalanche danger remains high throughout the region. This is a tricky time of year so make sure you are prepared, have the appropriate gear and avoid terrain traps. Always travel with a partner and carry a beacon, shovel, and probe. Get current snow and avalanche conditions at Alaska_Snow-dot-org.

Keep it safe and tune in next week for more updates and tips!
