Weekly report 3.20.2025
Alaska Safe Riders here with your weekly snow and trail report thanks to support from the M.E.A Charitable Foundation and this station.
The March of Spring continues, with temperatures staying in the thirties and forties during the day. Expect melting snow and weak ice to be prevalent throughout the region.
It was a busy weekend on trails around the South Central. With a fresh reset, trails around Hatchers’ Pass, Eureka, and Petersville were reported in good condition. Take advantage while you can!
Avalanche and crevasse hazards remain high throughout the region . Any time you travel in or near the mountains, go with a partner and carry a beacon, shovel, probe, ropes, and rescue tools and know how to use them. Get current snow and avalanche conditions at Alaska_Snow-dot-org.
Visit Alaska_Safe_Riders-dot-o-r-g to find lots of tips, tricks and tools to make your adventure a safe one.
There will be a free Avalanche Awareness workshop at the Seattle Ridge motorized parking lot in Turnagain Pass from noon to 4pm on March 22nd. Come check it out!
