Weekly report 4.3.2025

00:00

Alaska Safe Riders here with your final weekly snow and trail report of the 24 / 25 riding season thanks to support from the M.E.A Charitable Foundation and this station.

Trails are rapidly melting into muddy tracks across south central as spring continues to take hold. Riders reported making it upriver from Deshka to Skwentna last week but on rapidly deteriorating trails.

Further north on the Parks toward Cantwell, or north on the Glenn toward Eureka will be your best source for good riding this weekend. You’ll find temperatures reaching into the thirties during the day but dropping into the twenties at night helping to preserve the snowpack. The groomers have done an excellent job maintaining trails and deserve a big shout out for their efforts.

Avalanche danger continues rising to considerable as a result of the warm temperatures and sunshine. Large human triggered slides remain the big concern. Make sure you get current snow and avalanche conditions at Alaska_Snow-dot-org before heading for the mountains.

It’s time for the Alaska Safe Riders annual membership celebration. Don’t miss this great opportunity to learn about the season’s accomplishments, plans for the future, and exciting training events coming. Join the fun and earn a chance to win some awesome, sponsor donated prizes. Get all the details along with lots of safe riding and touring tips, tricks and tools at Alaska_Safe_Riders-dot-o-r-g

That’s it for this week! Keep it safe on the trails and in the mountains as we close out the season! Tune in again for our summer riding and touring tips coming soon.
