Weekly report 11.27.2025
Alaska Safe Riders is back with another season of weekly snow and trail reports — proudly supported by the Mat-Su Health Foundation.
The Mat-Su Valley starts the week cold and clear, with conditions gradually warming and clouding up toward the weekend. Light snow or mixed precipitation mid-week won’t do much to build a solid base, and lowland areas will remain thin with early-season hazards like rocks, stumps, and open water. Ice across lakes, sloughs, and rivers is still extremely thin and unpredictable — far from safe for travel.
Riders should stay on designated trails, avoid crossing any frozen water, and wait for confirmed ice reports before venturing onto lakes. Use extra caution, ride with a partner, and be prepared for rapidly changing conditions as winter continues to settle in.
November is Avalanche Awareness Month, and Alaska Safe Riders is kicking off the season with a members-only weekend of safety and fun in Eureka on December 5th — visit Alaska Safe Riders dot org for full event details and to register as a member for more benefits and resources.
From all of us at Alaska Safe Riders — have a safe and happy Thanksgiving weekend, and tune in next week for more updates and tips!
