ATV Summer Safety Camps – Mat-Su Valley

Do your children ride or operate an ATV? Have they attended a training program?

If you answered yes and then no, Listen up. This opportunity is for you!

Thanks to a grant from the Alaska Community Foundation and the Mat-Su Health Foundation, Alaska Safe Riders will offer ATV training camps this summer for youth ages 10 and up. Whether your kids have been riding for years or are new to the sport, safety training is critical if you want them to have a safe, respectful and fun experience.

It only takes one second for their summer to change from exciting to life-threatening. Just ask Jeremy Johansen. He had been riding his ATV for years when he hit a rock last summer that bucked him off of his ATV and crushed his spine. He is now bound to a wheelchair. Listen to Jeremy’s advice, Take the time to get your kids trained with this special opportunity.

Thanks to support from our donors, this course is free. We are requesting a $100 per student donation to help sustain this program however financial assistance is provided for anyone interested who can’t afford to make a donation.

Note: Alaska Safe Riders membership is NOT required to participate. However, becoming a member helps us grow ATV education and backcountry safety programs across Alaska, and pre-registering helps us communicate directly with you if the event time or date needs to change.
