Avalanche Awareness Rescue Clinic

If you travel and ride on, near or around mountains, understanding the risks of avalanches, proper travel protocols, and rescue techniques is critical.

Come enjoy a fun, interactive session of avalanche awareness training and companion rescue practice with Alaska Safe Riders. This clinic made possible thanks to support from Team CC, the Mat-Su Health Foundation, and the Alaska Department of Public Safety, and will help you learn about the avalanche rescue equipment needed and how to use it.

Beacon practice

Students practice avalanche rescue

Bring your gear including beacon, probe, shovel, pack (if you have them) and your riding buddies to get avy savy with this workshop. If you don’t have equipment, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with loaner gear. Come travel between activity stations to test your skills and earn prizes.  Learn and or practice your rescue response techniques so you’ll be ready to ride when the snow arrives!.
